Amazon.com Product Description
The lightweight Shimano Sonora 2500 FB spinning reel offers heavyweight features for your freshwater and saltwater angling adventures, with Shimano's innovative, line twist reducing Propulsion Line Management System at the top of the list. A spool lip has been added to the Propulsion system, which helps to prevent backlashes and wind knots from forming. The line also flows off the spool in smaller loops, meaning less line slap on the stripper guide, and thus providing longer casting distance due to less friction.
The Sonora also features a twist-reducing Power Roller III line roller, Shimano's S-Guard to prevent impact damage to the frame and rotor, and S-Arm Cam to prevent line slack around the line roller.

Propulsion Line Management System
The most obvious component of the Propulsion Line Management System is the new Propulsion spool lip design. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off of the spool in smaller loops
